Personal "Tivo" camera

There was an episode of Monk (love that show) where it was shown that Monk's dad's 18-wheeler had a system similar to this, but with a GPS system instead of a camera. It recorded a rolling window of 500 miles of the truck's route. The suspenseful part was that the system had the evidence Monk needed, but the truck had already been driven 497 miles and the brakes were out. I won't spoil the ending.

I think TiVo also provides a range of features when the TiVo DVR is connected to a home network, including film and television show downloads, advanced search, personal photo viewing, music offerings, and online scheduling.

I think all these ideas are quite easy to understand and I wonder why I've never thought thus.
